In 2008, the makeup artist and on-maternity leave Sam Chapman uploaded her first video on YouTube. She had created a "smokey eye" makeup look for a friend and thought YouTube was the easiest way to share it. Her personal account Pixiwoo got more and more visitors. Together with her sister Nic, they started creating several looks and before they even knew it, they had nearly 30,000 followers. Based on growing demand and a longing for "the right tools" among YouTube viewers - high quality brushes for a fair price, Real Techniques launched its brush collection in 2011.
Today they are among the top 10 best beauty blogs on YouTube and the brushes from Real Techniques are leading in the UK and fastest growing in the United States.
